Sydney John-Baptiste

Sydney has always had a passion for systems.

Meet Sydney, our (brand new!) Operations Lead.

Sydney comes from a science background, so she brings a very clear and very detail-oriented mind to the operations of this sweet and sometimes complicated thing called Firefly.

Sydney has also always had a deep passion for equity, diversity, and inclusion work. She began advocating locally at 10 years old and has had the opportunity to work nationally with organizations like BGC Canada (formerly the Boys and Girls Clubs), NACY, and UNICEF. Before Firefly, she brought her organizing power to an independent medical and pharmaceutical publisher as their conference manager, coordinating up to nine events simultaneously.

Sydney also enjoys exploring her creative side — she loves writing lyrics in the shower and hopes to one day publish a speculative fiction novel.

A perfect Saturday for Sydney would involve sleeping in, brunch and record shopping with her partner, adventures with her pup, and a night out with friends eating great food.
